Position Overview

• Position: Operates on the flanks (right or left).
• Role: Provide width, create chances, and score goals.
• Typical Formations:
  • 4-3-3: As part of the front three.
  • 4-2-3-1: Supporting a central striker.
  • 3-4-3: Advanced wide players in a front three.

Key Attributes and Skills

1. Speed:
   • Rapid acceleration to outrun defenders and exploit wide spaces.
2. Dribbling:
   • Skillful ball control to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.
3. Crossing:
   • Delivering accurate balls into the box for forwards to attack.
4. Finishing:
   • Cutting inside to score or converting low-driven crosses.
5. Tactical Awareness:
   • Intelligent off-the-ball movement to stretch defenses or drift into goal-scoring positions.

Responsibilities

1. Providing Width:
   • Stay wide to stretch the opposition and create space for teammates.
2. Creating Chances:
   • Deliver crosses, cutbacks, or through balls to attackers.
3. Goal Scoring:
   • Contribute to the scoreline by cutting inside or finishing from wide areas.
4. Defensive Support:
