Primary Role:

• Create chances and support the forwards in attacking play.

Responsibilities:

1. Playmaking: Deliver key passes and create opportunities.
2. Dribbling: Beat defenders and open up spaces.
3. Shooting: Score from inside and outside the box.
4. Positioning: Exploit spaces between opposition midfield and defense.

A. Winger (Left Wing and Right Wing, LW/RW)

Primary Role:

• Operate wide on the field to stretch the defense, deliver crosses, and score goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing Width: Stay near the touchline to stretch the opposition.
2. Crossing: Send accurate balls into the box for strikers.
3. Cutting Inside: Use speed and skill to move centrally and create scoring opportunities.
4. Dribbling: Beat defenders in 1v1 situations.
5. Defensive Tracking: Support the full-backs by tracking opposition runs.

Tactics:

• Overlapping Runs: Combine with full-backs to create 2v1 overloads.
• Cut Inside or Stay Wide: Adapt based on the team’s needs.

• Speed: Rapid acceleration to exploit space.
